The medical board of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital has decided to discharge PTI leader Shahbaz Gill from the infirmary as it has received the reports of all medical tests, which are termed satisfactory.
Bol News TV reported that the board, which consists of six members, has contacted the federal police and informed it about their decision.
The federal police have apprised the DIG and SSP Operation about the development.
Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry demanded an independent medical board for the investigation of the custodial torture of Shahbaz Gill and gave a deadline of September 10 to the government for the announcement of elections.
He was addressing the media when expressed concerns over his deteriorating health condition of Gill and condemn whatever happened with the PTI leader in custody.
He said that the international community has been showing concerns for the detained PTI leader and expressed that the whole PTI leadership has grave apprehension toward Shahbaz.
He also said that an independent medical board should be formed over it with the confidence of Shahbaz’s family, PTI and the prosecution as well.
Chaudhry also demanded that people involved in the custodial torture must be identified and presented before the court adding that a standoff was created last night when Gill was taken to the hospital in the wee hours on a stretcher against the laws of the jail.

He said that the medical team in the jail hospital has confirmed that Gill has disturbed breathing as he is an asthma patient that got triggered in the jail.
The PTI leader also informed that the leaders of the party were not allowed to meet the arrested leader.
He while concluding the presser announced a deadline for the government to announce the next elections by September 10 adding that the elections are the only hope for democracy in Pakistan
