Radhika Apte said Shor’s team spread her dating rumours with Tusshar

• Radhika played Tusshar Kapoor’s wife in the 2011 film Shor in the City.

• Radhika has now revealed that it was a publicity tactic to boost her profile.

Radhika Apte said that the people in charge of promoting her movie Shor in the City were the ones who spread the rumours about who she was dating at the time. Radhika played Tusshar Kapoor’s wife in the crime drama film, which was directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and produced by Tusshar’s sister Ekta Kapoor and mother Shobha Kapoor. Around the time the movie came out in April 2011, there were several rumours that Radhika and Tusshar were also dating in real life.

After Ekta Kapoor and Tusshar Kapoor appeared on Koffee with Karan, she made some contentious remarks about Radhika that only served to fuel the rumours. She called Radhika “horsey” lovely and made a joke about her brother’s poor judgement in women. She also expressed her wish that their on-screen chemistry will remain there only. It was recently confirmed by Radhika, who afterwards denied even being close friends with Tusshar, that it was a PR stunt.

She told Bollywood media, “I had gone to London to study contemporary dance. Saibo became a huge hit so they called me back for promotions. Then they only spread some link-up rumours about me and Tusshar. It obviously wasn’t true. I didn’t know (about the promotion tactic). Initially, I was very entertained, because I got an article that I was apparently in Goa celebrating Valentine’s Day with Tusshar Kapoor, and I was studying for my exams in London.”
