WhatsApp users will be able to edit sent messages

One of the most-wanted features ever is finally coming to WhatsApp. Through the Google Play Beta Program, WhatsApp is releasing a new update that brings the version number up to 2.22.22.14.

With the new update, WhatsApp users on Android will be able to change text messages. WhatsApp is basically working on putting a label in the chat bubble if the message has been changed.

With this feature, users will be able to fix typos in their messages after they have already been sent.

The feature is still being worked on, but those who are in the beta test will be able to use it. WABetaInfo found out how messages in a conversation are marked as edited.

This screenshot shows the label “Edited” when a message is edited. WhatsApp allows 15 minutes to edit messages.

Everyone deletes messages. If the recipient does not turn on their device within a specific time, will they see the altered message or the original?

This feature isn’t ready yet, unfortunately. We don’t know when it will come out, either.
