WAZIRABAD: Investigations regarding the gun attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan have been handed over to the Counter-Terrorism Department, security sources said.
The sources in the know also informed that the main accused Naveed was also transferred to Lahore for the probe. Interrogation of the accused by important institutions including CTD started.
It was also revealed that 11 bullet casings were found on the spot, out of which nine casings belonged to pistols and two to big guns.
The Wazirabad police have said that all the information and evidence have been collected from the crime scene by the police and agencies.
The incident – that claimed one life and left 13 injured including PTI chief Imran Khan and other party leaders – took place yesterday when the march was moving towards Rawalpindi.
Soon after the incident, protests broke out in all major cities of Pakistan and the people came out to the streets to condemn the attack on Imran Khan.
Pertinently, Imran Khan underwent surgery for the removal of bullet fragments from his leg at Shaukat Khanum Hospital Lahore and is reportedly stable.
Investigations are being carried out while all the prominent personalities, international media and the federal government have been condemning the attack.
