Rachel Zegler Celebrates ‘Hunger Games’ Prequel
The 21-year-old Golden Globe winner took some behind-the-scenes photos on Saturday, the last day of filming for her upcoming Hunger Games prequel. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is based on Suzanne Collins’ 2019 book of the same name.
“I’ve loved every minute of it. And that’s all for now, “She wrote on Twitter and posted pictures of herself holding the clapperboard and showing a part of the set.
“Many, many, many more words come to mind, but I won’t make you bored by pretending I have something new to say,” Zegler wrote in a follow-up tweet. “Please know that I’m grateful. Know that I love to tell stories. Just know that I love my real life so much. Happy ending, my birds!”
She was told in May that she would play Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from District 12 in the 10th Hunger Games, in the movie.

Tom Blyth (Billy the Kid) will play a youthful President Coriolanus Snow (Donald Sutherland) who mentors Lucy before becoming a tyrant.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes also stars Viola Davis, Hunter Schafer, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, and Zegler’s boyfriend Josh Andrés Rivera, with whom she debuted in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story adaptation last year.
Zegler joked that Rivera, 27, is her “least favorite person on set” as she offered a behind-the-scenes look last month with aid from Reece Feldman (@guywithamoviecamera), who shares movie set material with his 1.1 million TikTok followers.
“I visited set to see Viola be wonderful and somehow became the official tour guide – keep a look out for some fun stuff recorded by the one and only Reece Feldman from now till release,” Zegler tweeted accompanying the footage.
At the August Toronto International Film Festival, Jennifer Lawrence, who played Katniss Everdeen in the first four Hunger Games films, advised the cast: “Enjoy yourself. Don’t worry—have fun.”
