ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) hospital, Islamabad, on Saturday formed a seven-member committee to investigate leaking out of pictures of veteran journalist and Bol News Anchorperson Arshad Sharif’s dead body.

Deputy Director Medical Dr Naveed is heading the committee which includes PIMS Director Khalid Masood, the medical director, chairman medical board and all the members of medical board. The committee also includes PIMS IT director and cameraman of medical board.

Earlier also a two-member committee was constituted to investigate the matter related to Arshad Sharif, but to no avail.

The fresh committee has convened its first meeting on November 14. All the members have been directed to appear in the committee meeting.

On November 11, wife of slain journalist and Bol News Anchorperson Arshad Sharif, Javeria Siddique had said the PIMS had said it would provide her husband’s post-mortem report on November 14.

Talking to Bol News, Javeria Siddique had said she had contacted the PIMS administration and they had said that the forensic test was taking time for the post-mortem report to be completed.

She had said mother of Arshad Sharif could tell how many pages were missing from the post-mortem report sent by Kenya. She had said she had received a six-page report only.

On broadcasting pictures of Arshad Sharif by an anchorperson of a local TV channel, Javeria had said the anchorperson and TV channel had apologized from the family. “I was shocked to see the pictures. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) should not allow showing such pictures,” she had said.
