Naya Rivera’s ‘Glee’ Co-Stars Share Memories, about Everyday’s Gift

• The former Glee co-stars got together for a charity drive in honour of Naya Rivera.

Naya Rivera‘s co-stars are thinking about all that she did for them and for Glee.

On Tuesday night in Burbank, California, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, and Chris Colfer got together for the Snixxmas Special Charity Drive for the And That’s What You REALLY Missed podcast. The event was held in honor of Rivera, who was known for throwing annual “Snixxmas” parties around the holidays and to help the Alexandria House, which Rivera supported.

During the night, the former Glee cast members remembered their favorite times with Rivera and talked about what it was like to work with her on set.

Morris, who played Santana Lopez’s love interest Brittany S. Pierce, a cheerleader, said that any scene she did with Rivera was memorable.

“There are so many favorite memories. I don’t have a specific moment, but I did really enjoy the scenes where it was just Santana and I because, we all knew as actors, being on camera with Naya was just a gift that kept on giving,” Morris, 35, said. “She was always there and always in the moment.”

“I just felt so blessed that I got to act next to her,” she continued. “She was always my biggest champion, too. In a scene, she would give me anything I needed.”

In the 2011 episode “Sexy,” Brittany and Santana told each other how they felt about each other by singing Fleetwood Mac’s “Landslide” with guest star Gwyneth Paltrow. This was one of the most touching moments for Morris.

“Landslide” was and will always be very special to me, Morris said. “It was just such a famous song and moment. One of the first things that happened on the show.”.

McHale, who is 34 years old, also talked about Rivera’s talent and how she was able to nail every take with little prep.

“Naya could show up and be like, ‘What scene are we doing today?’ and she would have one of those crazy two-page monologues,” said McHale, who portrayed Artie Abrams on the Fox series. “Jenna and I would be going over our two lines we had in the episode.”
