Luv Sinha says Bollywood continues to hire who ‘can’t speak Hindi’
The Hindi cinema industry, in the opinion of Luv Sinha, gives too many opportunities to performers “who are as plastic as the surgeries they get.” Luv Sinha is the son of the renowned actor Shatrughan Sinha. The actor-politician expressed his opinions on how Bollywood continues to select unqualified individuals for important projects. Luv, who made his acting debut in 2010 with Sadiyaan, is also starring in Gadar 2, the prequel directed by Anil Sharma.
In a tweet, Luv stated, “I’m not too sure about our other film industries but the Hindi film industry gives opportunities to some actors who are as plastic as the surgeries they get. They can’t speak Hindi, can’t act but will continue to get work in big projects helmed by talented filmmakers.” The actor seemed to imply that Bollywood filmmakers are choosing actors who are less deserving of their achievement without specifically identifying anyone.
One of his Twitter followers replied, “I really hope there is a possibility for beginners like us who are well versed in language and talent get to feature in Hindi Cinema in 2023,” in response to the actor’s comment. Another admirer referenced his father Shatrughan’s fame in the film industry and stated, “See your father since it does require effort. How Dev Anand Saahab gave him his introduction, how he portrayed parts with grey tones, and how you finally saw Kaalicharan. He was so boldly dashing, wow. (emoji with hearts eyes) @ShatruganSinha.”
Luv appeared in JP Dutta’s military drama Paltan after making his acting debut in Raj Kanwar’s Sadiyaan alongside Feryna Wazheir, Rishi Kapoor, Hema Malini, and Rekha (2018). He portrayed Second Lieutenant Attar Singh in the 1962 Sino-Indian War action movie. Jackie Shroff, Arjun Rampal, Sonu Sood, and Harshvardhan Rane were additional stars in the multi-star movie.
Sonakshi Sinha, his younger sister, is also an actor who made her screen debut in Dabangg opposite Salman Khan (2010). Sonakshi is being helmed by Kussh S Sinha, Luv’s twin, in the upcoming movie Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness. Along with them, Paresh Rawal, Suhail Nayyar, and Arjun Rampal make brief cameo appearances in the Hindi movie, which was shot in the UK earlier this year.
