“For Meg, Archie, and Lili… and, of course, my mother,” he begins his astonishing book.

Naturally, no mention of Harry‘s father, Charles, or his once-beloved brother, William, given the bitterness that has surrounded him and the family he has left behind.

Perhaps Prince Harry missed the irony of his chosen title, Spare, because none of his formerly close relatives or their loved ones are spared from a slew of bombshell charges.

To name a few, ridicule, abandonment, violence, hatred, and despair. The reader is left with a tremendous sensation of amazement and sadness on his behalf and the journey travelled to this point of absolute ruin of his family unit after 557 pages.

Indeed, loss and misery appear to be at the heart of Harry’s life, a story that appears destined to continue as far as any link that may have previously existed.

In the midst of heated anticipation about what might be included in Harry‘s life biography, he disclosed yesterday in his own words what must definitely be the most telling expression throughout this spectacular breakdown.

“I don’t know how staying silent is ever going to make things better.” Perhaps a last-ditch attempt at engagement after being locked in a (particularly one-sided) war of words, but more honestly, another example of a litany of contradictions in what is a breathtaking bestseller.

In the midst of this incredible insight into Harry‘s experiences while in the royal fold, one could easily claim that he is on a one-man crusade to destroy the family he abandoned.

How can he claim to want his father and brother back in his life, and even claim to believe in a monarchy, when he has trampled on the entire institution and the relationships of his closest relatives?

The ruthless assassination of his brother’s persona reveals a guy so enraged and devastated by his status as a younger sibling that he will stop at nothing to eliminate him.

Many will point to Harry’s formative years, as well as his own father’s evaluation of being “given” a “heir and a spare,” and the numerous examples he has given of being treated differently from the future King, William.

It is a weight Harry has naturally been unable to bear since his mother was cruelly died in a Parisian car crash when he was only 12 years old.
