Felicity Huffman to appear in ‘Good Doctor’

Felicity Huffman 60-year-old actress will appear in an embedded pilot episode of The Good Lawyer, an ABC legal drama that is a spinoff of the network’s hit medical programme The Good Doctor. On March 6, the episode is scheduled to premiere as part of The Good Doctor‘s sixth season.

According to the source, Huffman will play Janet Stewart, a “well regarded attorney and partner at the legal company with a strong intellect and dry humour.”

Her persona will be chosen to represent Dr. Shaun Murphy, played by Freddie Highmore, who will be trying to win a case in the episode. However, Joni, a young attorney, will soon take her position.

A little more than two years have passed since Huffman finished serving her whole sentence for the college admissions fraud, which included jail time, community service, and supervised release.

In May 2019, Huffman entered a guilty plea for paying infamous admissions counsellor Rick Singer $15,000 to have a proctor modify her daughter Sophia’s SAT test answers. In October 2019, Huffman completed 11 of her 14-day prison sentence. In addition, she received a 250-hour community service requirement and a one-year period of supervised release.

William H. Macy, the star of the television show Shameless, was not charged.

Huffman made three appearances during the scandal: in the miniseries When They See Us by Ava DuVernay, which was broadcast in May 2019, and in the July release of Otherhood on Netflix.

It was revealed in November 2020 that Huffman would star in a brand-new ABC half-hour comedy that has only been referred to as the Sacramento River Cats project on her IMDb page. Her first endeavour following her involvement in the scandal was the news.

According to a recent story from Deadline, Susan Savage, the real-life owner of the Triple-A baseball franchise Sacramento River Cats, served as an inspiration for Becky Hartman Edwards’ show.Huffman plays a lady who inherits her husband’s minor league baseball franchise after his tragic passing in the television series. According to Deadline, she tries to find her new normal with the aid of her son, who is portrayed by Zack Gottsagen, a baseball enthusiast with Down syndrome.

Along with Edwards and Savage, Huffman, who previously won an Emmy for her role on ABC’s Desperate Housewives, will executive produce the show.
