CM KP will send summary to dissolve the assembly.
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Mahmood Khan will send the summary for the dissolution of the provincial assembly on Tuesday, January 17.
In a statement, the chief minister said the summary will be sent to Governor Haji Ghulam Ali to dissolve the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“According to the order of Imran Khan, the summary for the dissolution of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly will be sent to the Governor on Tuesday,” he said in a tweet, adding that PTI will return to form the government with a two-thirds majority.
The development comes just one day after the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly. The provincial legislature stood dissolved after the governor refused to sign the summary saying he will not be part of the process.
The dissolution of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly was delayed as Chief Minister Mahmood Khan called a meeting of the PTI parliamentary party.
The meeting made the final decision on sending the summary for the assembly’s dissolution after taking into consideration all aspects of the political situation.
Earlier, it was announced that the summary would be sent to the governor on Saturday. The chief minister prepared a summary for the dissolution of the provincial assembly.
Speaking at an event in Peshawar on Saturday, the chief minister said the summary for the dissolution of the KP assembly would be sent to the governor within a few says and its copies will be shared with the media. “We will start again from zero,” he said, adding that the PTI will win the next elections.
Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) KP President Pervez Khattak said that the KP’s legislation would also be dissolved after the dissolution of the Punjab Assembly.
He asked PTI workers to start making preparation for the next elections. Khattak said the government and its allies were avoiding the election as they could not face the masses due to their flawed economic policies. He said holding elections was the only solution to the problems being faced by the country.
