According to an exclusive story from Deadline, South Korea’s Climax Studio and Andy Serkis’ Imaginarium Productions will collaborate to bring Jason Kim’s next film The Monster Tale to life. Byun Seung-Min, the creator of Climax Studio, is partnered as an executive producer with Serkis and Jonathan Cavendish.

While the project’s specifics are still a secret, Deadline says that the narrative would centre on a feuding band of East Asian monsters that must cooperate to fend off an approaching invasion from a monster in Europe across the oceans. Kim expressed his enthusiasm for the project by saying, “I want to offer the global public a new form of entertainment through the fantasy action of monsters from the east and west.” Kim will create the screenplay for The Monster Tale in addition to directing it. As the project gets closer to its undetermined release date, more details, like casting, will probably become available.

The Monster Tale is a fascinating premise and might provide viewers an entertaining and captivating narrative with lots of on-screen spectacle. With regard to the upcoming project in development, Cavendish said, “Bringing brilliant, flawed, and complex characters to the screen is at the heart of what we do at the Imaginarium. We cannot wait to work with Climax Studio and their talented team to develop this wild roller-coaster ride of a story – it’s going to be unlike anything you’ve seen before.

“I am eager to collaborate with The Imaginarium on The Monster Tale’s international co-production. The collaboration between the Climax Studio and Imaginarium is likely to be one of the most intriguing projects we have ever worked on, according to Byun.

With recent hits like Netflix’s Jung-E, Hellhound, and D.P., two of the streaming service’s original series, Climax Studio has enjoyed success. The two production firms that worked together to create Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, an adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book that Serkis both directed and acted in, suggest that The Monster Tale will be a visual delight for viewers when it premieres in the near future.

Next Goal Wins, directed by Taika Waititi and starring Michael Fassbender, will be released by Imaginarium Productions concurrently with the eventual release of The Monster Tale. It will focus on the American Samoa national football squad. Along with the next sports drama, Serkis will take the helm once more for the animated film adaptation of George Orwell’s famous work Animal Farm.
