The Late Late Show to be replaced by game show reboot
James Corden is scheduled to leave the late-night talk show this spring, but CBS won’t be searching for a replacement as they reportedly decided to bring back the game show, which previously ran on Comedy Central for 600 episodes between 2013 and 2017. The game show will reportedly air in the time slot of the news programme.
A source told ‘Entertainment Tonight’: “CBS is eyeing ‘@Midnight’ to replace ‘The Late Late Show’.
“They’re ready for something different. Hosted late night talk shows are expensive to produce.”
The news has not yet been addressed by CBS.
In addition to personnel from Funny or Die, the organisation that created the original series, Stephen Colbert will serve as executive producer, according to Deadline.
Since he serves as executive producer of the Comedy Central series “Tooning Out The News” and “Hell of a Week with Charlamagne Tha God,” the “Late Show” host is already active in other late-night programmes.
In is understood former ‘@Midnight’ host Chris Hardwick won’t be directly involved with the new show.
