Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis are portrayed as sisters in new series
According to Deadline, Nicole Kidman and Jamie Lee Curtis will co-star as sisters in a new series based on Patricia Cornwell’s bestselling Kay Scarpetta books. For the Amazon series, Kidman, 55, will play the sleuthing medical examiner Dr. Kay Scarpetta, while Curtis, 64, will play her wacky sister Dorothy, according to the source.
The series’ executive producers are also the actresses. The publication continued by stating that Curtis reportedly has a first-look contract with Blumhouse Television and that the series was even inspired by his connection with Cornwell.
It’s expected to get two-season order with eight episodes each. The news was seemingly confirmed by Cornwell on her Instagram page. “Scarpetta friends, we’ve waited 33 years for this…” she wrote in the caption.

Liz Sarnoff of Barry and Lost is also involved as a writer, executive producer, and showrunner, according to Variety. Alongside Kidman, Per Saari will serve as an executive producer for Blossom Films. Executive producers for Blumhouse are reportedly Jason Blum, Chris McCumber, and Jeremy Gold.
The title character, a gorgeous, tough-as-nails forensic investigator, has a tumultuous love life and a taste for opera and Italian cuisine in the 26 Scarpetta thrillers that Cornwell has authored since 1990. According to People, she served as Virginia’s Chief Medical Examiner prior to moving to Massachusetts.
