
- PTI will start ‘Jail Bahro’ movement from Lahore
- Fawad Chaudhry said all arrangements have been completed
- Imran Khan will soon announce election campaign
LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry said the ‘Jail Bahro’ movement will start from Lahore tomorrow (Wednesday).
Speaking to media outside Zaman Park, the PTI leader said all arrangements have been completed for the ‘Jail Bahro Tehreek’ and party workers and leaders will start presenting themselves to court arrest as part their protest against the government.
He said PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar will ‘surrender’ themselves before the authorities to kickoff the protest movement. “The situation is such that we have no option but to present ourselves for arrest,” he said.
Fawad said the entire PTI is ready is ready for the Jail Bahro movement. He said Imran Khan has instructed to make arrangements for the elections and will announce start his election campaign. He said the PDM is worried after seeing Imran Khan’s welcome during his appearance in court.
He said the government has issued summons to Imran Khan, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, and even Bushra Bibi to appear before NAB. He said the resignation of NAB Chairman has exposed that it was used for political purposes but the NAB Chairman didn’t toe the line.
He hailed the decision of the Lahore High Court (LHC) that the caretaker government is only allowed to conduct regular working and cannot formulate policy. He said the decision is in line with supreme court’s order.
Speaking on the occasion, PTI leader Hammad Azhar said the National Assembly passed the Finance Supplementary Bill, 2022, in haste as the quorum was not complete and only 62 MNAs voted for it.
“Ishaq Dar has brought the nation to the extent that there are no funds for daily use,” he said, adding that the prices of essential items such as chicken and groceries have soared.
He said the government is worried that Imran Khan may return to power and their corruption cases will be revived. He said the incompetent PDM government had brought the worst ever economic crisis.
He said the country needs political stability which can only be achieved by holding elections. He said the ECP has maintained to hold elections with 90 days and should now conduct them accordingly.
