Shazam! Fury of the Gods new clip shows Freddy Freeman falling for Athena at first sight

Only three weeks until Shazam! Fury of the Gods hit theatrical screens worldwide. With this, marketing for the follow-up to the widely praised 2019 movie Shazam! has been picking up speed. In this new DC movie, there are a lot of exciting things to anticipate, such as the director David F. Sandberg’s comeback or Zachary Levi reprising his heroic title role.

Nevertheless, one of Fury of the Gods’ major selling points is undoubtedly the addition of Rachel Zegler. The youngest daughter of the god Atlas, Anthea, will be portrayed by the West Side Story actress as the villain. Anthea now meets Shazam Family member Freddy Freeman (Jack Dylan Grazer) for the first time in a brand-new clip.

The 30-second clip features Freddy’s classic “love at first sight” moment as he runs into Anthea in the school hallway. A pair of school bullies repeatedly apologize to one another in an effort to win Anthea over, but in classic Freddy fashion, he informs her of the two teenagers’ numerous funny medical issues. As Freddy is punched out as a result, Anthea is impressed and hails him as a hero.

This new clip is the finest look at this new DC villain so far because up to this point, the promotion has mostly focused on Anthea’s older sisters. Nonetheless, it’s difficult to imagine Anthea as a villain given how endearing the situation is.

You can’t deny the actress and Grazer have incredible chemistry. Perhaps that is just the charm of Zegler taking over. Unbearably adorable, this scene marks the beginning of one of Fury of the Gods’ most important partnerships. A surprising Batman Easter egg is also included in this charming conversation.

Diedrich Bader, who has been behind the voice of The Dark Knight in several animated shows like Batman: The Brave and the Bold and Harley Quinn, is the instructor who breaks up the brawl. Some well-known DC characters he has voiced include Zeta, Booster Gold, Solomon Grundy, Lex Luthor, and Solomon Grundy. Like the original Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which stars John Glover from Smallville, aims to pay tribute to DC’s lengthy history in numerous ways.
