Star Lee Min Ho accused with tax evasion

On February 2nd, Aju News stated that Lee Min Ho and his business had been the subject of an inquiry in 2020 and had been punished for alleged tax cheating.

The report went on to say that the Seoul Regional Tax Office began looking into the actor and MYM Entertainment in September 2020. They apparently received a sizable fine as a result of the probe.

Following the publication of the report, MYM Entertainment released a statement disputing the allegations: ”Hello. Here we have MYM Entertainment.

This notice is being made to address issues with our agency and the artists represented by our agency.

Taxes have been faithfully paid by the agency and actor Lee Min Ho, and there haven’t ever been any sketchy situations.

The present position is a result of a disagreement over how to interpret whether our artist’s previously resolved matter of “compensation for damages caused by the use of illegal portrait rights” was tax deductible or not. This issue involved an additional tax that was determined as a result of a mistake in the accounting process used to handle corporate expenses. We’ve paid our dues in relation to this.
