The new monochromatic teaser for the upcoming movie Bheed presents the key characters of the story, which centers on the struggle endured by the underprivileged during the nationwide lockdown in 2020.

This comes after a tragic video clip that teased the movie’s subject matter. Lead actor Rajkummar Rao posted the trailer on Instagram with the caption, “A crisis that created borders within the country and its people.”

The new teaser begins with views of how migrant labourers travelled in crowded trains, buses, and even on foot to reach their communities during the government’s statewide lockdown, which completely halted all ongoing non-essential activities and deprived the impoverished of their means of subsistence. “Hum sahar gaye kyunki yaha pe koi intjaam nahi tha, sahar se wapis aaye kyunki waha koi intjaam nahi tha. Garib aadmi ke liye kabhi intjaam hi nahi hua. Hum se anyaay hua hai, raasta bhi hum hi nikalenge (we went to the city because there was no work in the village, we came back because there was no work in the city. There is never any arrangement for the poor).”

Following that, there are brief glimpses of Kritika Kamra as a journalist at Ground Zero, Ashutosh Rana as a police officer driving a jeep, Rajkummar Rao as a police officer dressed in uniform and riding a bike, as well as additional glimpses of Dia Mirza on the verge of collapse, a concerned Bhumi Pednekar as a medical professional, and Pankaj Kapur. Rajkummar chases a person on foot as the intriguing teaser comes to a finish.

Bheed was shot in black and white by director Anubhav Sinha in order to make comparisons between the country’s lockdown caused by the pandemic and the 1947 Partition. Anubhav Sinha stated in a statement, “This story is about people whose lives changed in a snap and the colors from their lives were lost when the border was drawn within the country,”
