Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have seemingly snubbed the royal family by avoiding the British baptism for their daughter Lilibet.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex – who christened their youngest child on Friday in an intimate ceremony at Montecito mansion, California – have reportedly left his father, King Charles III, and brother, Prince William, heartbroken with their move as the couple celebrated the traditional even of christening their daughter with their American friends.

According to an insider, the “royal family did not approve of Meghan and Harry’s decision to hold Lilibet’s christening event at their new home in California.”

Harry and Meghan, who stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 and relocated to the United States, chose an Anglican baptism for their youngest daughter instead of a British one. Tyler Perry, the couple’s billionaire godfather, was also present.

Reverend John Taylor, the Anglican Bishop of Los Angeles, baptised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s 21-month-old daughter. Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mother, was also present at the event.

She allegedly danced to songs from the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s wedding reception at Windsor Castle. ‘Oh Happy Day’ and ‘This Little Light of Mine’ were also reportedly performed by a gospel choir.

Meghan and Harry had invited King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla, as well as the Prince and Princess of Wales, to the ceremony, but they did not attend.
