At a reception that director SS Rajamouli recently held at his Los Angeles home to honor the Oscar win that the musician got for the song Naatu Naatu from Rajamouli’s film RRR, pianist MM Keeravani performed the piano and mesmerized guests.
Ram Charan, the hero of the RRR, attended the Oscars with his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela, who released videos from the celebration at Rajamouli’s residence and disclosed that Keeravani performed the piano there.
In one of the videos she provided, the musician could be seen playing the piano while seated, as the audience applauded and encouraged him. Ram Charan was also spotted taking out his phone to take a photo of the occasion. “We’re all on top of the world – thank you @mmkeeravani Garu #rrr family,” Upsana wrote in the caption of the video she shared.
Upasana also posted a number of more images and videos from the party. Ram Charan was spotted taking pictures with the awards that RRR has received. Also, she posted a few videos of their attendance at the 2023 Oscars.
Naatu Naatu won the prize earlier on Monday, up against big-name competitors including Lady Gaga and Rihanna. Actors Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, director SS Rajamouli, singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava, and the composer were all in attendance at the significant event. It is the first Telugu song to receive an Oscar nomination in the Original Song category.
The epic film RRR, which was released in March of last year, told a fictional account of the friendship between Alluri Seetharama Raju and Komaram Bheem, two real-life liberation fighters. The lead roles were played by Ram Charan and Jr. NTR. The movie, which has made more than 1,200 crore globally, also included key performances from Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, and Alia Bhatt.
Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for best song on Monday morning, and The Elephant Whisperers, a short documentary film directed by Guneet Monga, won for best documentary film. India also took home two other categories at the Oscars 2023.
