Faysal Qureshi Shares His Thoughts on ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’
Faysal Qureshi is a well-known actor, producer, and TV host in Pakistan. He became famous for his great acting in the drama “Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan.”
Recently, he was a guest on a podcast where he discussed the misunderstandings surrounding the slogan ‘mera jism meri marzi.’
The actor from “Fitoor” mentioned that in Islam, the example set by the Prophet (Sunnah) provides a complete guide for how to handle marital relationships while also considering other religious obligations. “You haven’t learned that but you have fixated on one particular thing,”
He further explained, “You come home drunk, you hit your wife just yesterday, and then you approach her with force.” The actor pinned the confusion shrouding these issues to lack of proper conversation. “When a lot of people start talking simultaneously, your ‘channel’ loses direction,”
“People have distorted ‘mera jism meri marzi’ into a joke! It’s not about the body, It’s about consent. I am a man, but even I expect regard for my consent,” Faisal added.
