KARACHI: At least two people were killed and eight others were injured cylinder explosion in a generator market shop located near the New Chali area of Karachi.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) City said two shops were affected while the roof of one shop collapsed due to the explosion caused by the burst cylinder in the generator market shop.
Eyewitnesses said the fire broke out in two shops due to the explosion and there was smoke everywhere, a snorkel of the fire brigade reached to control the fire.
The hospital authorities confirmed that two people died in the incident while eight people were injured and have been shifted to the Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Institute of Trauma.
The hospital authorities said that the condition of the injured was out of danger.
Earlier, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has released a report on the loss of life and property due to rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the PDMA report, 17 people have died and 23 people have been injured in the accidents so far, while the highest loss of life and property in the rains occurred in Bajaur district.
According to PDMA, 148 cattle also died due to rains in different districts, apart from this, a total of 116 houses were damaged due to lightning.
