The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecasts that the heatwave will persist in Karachi, Hyderabad, and parts of Sindh on Thursday and Friday.

According to the synoptic situation, most areas of Pakistan are experiencing continental air, with high pressure prevailing in the upper atmosphere, particularly in the southern half of the country. A westerly wave is expected to enter western regions on Friday evening or night, spreading to the upper parts by Saturday.

Due to these conditions, day temperatures are expected to remain 03-05 degrees Celsius above normal levels in Karachi, Hyderabad, and various parts of the province from May 08 to May 10 (Wednesday-Friday). Rain, wind, and thunderstorms are anticipated in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Larkana, Dadu, Qambar Shahdad Kot, Jamshoro, and Sanghar on Friday night and Saturday. Gusty winds and rainfall are likely to help bring temperatures back to normal levels.

Medical professionals advise the public to stay indoors and minimize exposure to direct sunlight, especially for children and the elderly.

In Karachi, maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 36-38°C on Thursday and 35-37°C on Friday.
