Rachel Zegler is requested to give a speech at Oscars on 27th March

Rachel Zegler has been given the opportunity to present after the star was just informed that she would not be invited to the Oscars. Despite her role as Maria in West Side Story, Zegler recently stated that she was not invited to the 94th Academy Awards ceremony. So she will instead “cheer for West Side Story from [her] sofa.”

According to a Hollywood journalist, Zegler has been requested to give a speech at the Oscars on March 27. A role as a presenter is far more important. As it entails Zegler on the stage and presenting an award on behalf of the Academy. While there isn’t much else to go on, it’s believed that Zegler’s shooting schedule has been rearranged so that the star can continue to work.

Meanwhile, Zegler has hit the ground running with her impressive list of upcoming projects following West Side Story. Shazam!, the widely anticipated film, will also feature her. Fury of the Gods, in which she plays Helen Mirren’s and Lucy Liu’s sister, will be released later this year. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Disney’s newest live-action adaptation of one of their legendary fairy tales, is now under production.

While the Academy did not explain why Zegler was re-invited, it’s safe to assume that the social media tempest that followed Zegler’s proclamation was tough to ignore.
