Utilities stocks hike, with the S&P BSE utility index up 16.7 points, or 0.49 percent, at 3407.11 at 09:47 IST.

Adani Power Ltd (up 2.08 percent), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 1.91 percent), NLC India Ltd (up 1.56 percent), Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (up 1.46 percent), and Adani Transmission Ltd (up 1.46 percent) were the top gainers in the S&P BSE Utilities index. Rattanindia Power Ltd (up 1.34 percent), Adani Green Energy Ltd (up 1.08 percent), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 1.05 percent), Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.02 percent), and Gujarat Industries Power Co Ltd were among the major gainers (up 0.83 percent ).
