Stellantis announces the end of its Jeep partnership with GAC in China

• Stellantis will recognize a non-cash impairment of around 297 million euros.
•  The loss-making joint venture with  GAC has been producing Jeep vehicles.

Stellantis (STLA.MI) reported the “systematic end” of its misfortune making joint endeavor with Chinese carmaker GAC (601238.SS) , which has been delivering Jeep vehicles starting around 2010, after it bombed in its endeavor to assume command over the business.

A few joint endeavors between global automakers and nearby accomplices have gone under strain in China, where rivalry has been warming up while lockdowns because of the COVID-19 pandemic have likewise affected creation and deals.

Stellantis had recently reported its goal to take a 75% stake in the joint business with GAC in January – an arrangement that was quickly reprimanded by its Chinese partner.
