MG 3 Cost Less Than Suzuki WagonR: Javed Afridi
Morris Garages (MG) Pakistan is set to take the domestic hatchback market...
MG 3: Being released soon or not?
Due to his most recent post about the “imminent arrival” of MG 3, Javed Afridi, the face of MG Pakistan, is once again trending on social media. Javed Afridi has been teasing the MG3 for years at this point, but he has never stated when the car will actually go on sale.
Afridi can be seen standing next to an MG3 in his most recent tweet, but the precise location is unknown. The image’s caption reads, “COMING SOON.”

Subcompact family hatchbacks like the Suzuki Swift, KIA Rio, Toyota Vitz, and others are competitors of the MG 3.
There are two engine choices for the MG 3 on the global market. a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated, four-cylinder petrol engine with a 5-speed manual transmission (105 horsepower, 137 Nm of torque), and a similarly tuned engine with a 4-speed automatic transmission (109 horsepower, 150 Nm of torque).
The MG 3 is equipped with a standard eight-inch touch-sensitive infotainment screen with Apple Carplay, Sat-Nav, rear parking sensors, a reverse camera with dynamic guidelines, multi-media controls on the steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity, cruise control, air conditioning with dust and pollen filters, a four-speaker premium sound system, USB/AUX connectivity, and other standard features.
The fact that the MG 3 is marketed as a domestically assembled vehicle in the UK is worth mentioning. However, it still has a starting price of Rs. 3.4 million. On the other hand, Afridi is adamant that Pakistan will only incur costs of “less than Rs. 2 million.”
The UK price appears more reasonable in comparison to Afridi’s lofty claim given the features and characteristics described above.
Earlier this year, a senior MG spokesman stated that, despite the company’s awareness of the MG 3’s potential and popularity in Pakistan, MG has no immediate plans to launch the vehicle.
According to his justification, MG does not offer its hatchback in many Right-Hand Drive (RHD) markets. As a result, it produces relatively little, which would make it difficult for the corporation to meet Pakistan’s demand.
He stated that the MG 3 will be introduced in Pakistan by the corporation, but only when it is practical. The company’s priority, he continued, is to introduce crossovers to the market first. The company will concentrate on economy automobiles after that is finished.
These comments indicate that MG 3 is not “coming soon” as Javed Afridi said.
