Tesla plans to introduce a compact and affordable crossover in China
The forthcoming model, however, will be the cheapest Tesla in the company’s inventory. According to the specs, the new entry-level Tesla will be the same size as the new Honda HR-V.
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, revealed in October 2022 that the company is working on a next-generation platform that will be half the price of the Model 3 and Model Y. A model priced around Rs. 6.6 million is planned to be released in 2023.
Musk proposed a lower-cost Tesla model in 2018, claiming that the business would deliver it in 2021. In June 2021, he indicated that the hatchback would be available in 2023.
Tesla presented its 4,680 battery cell design during its September 2020 Battery Day event, which might lower prices for the upcoming model. The battery cell design offers five times the energy density and six times the power, resulting in a 16% improvement in battery range.
The new car’s release date is uncertain. But, considering the photographs of a seemingly finished vehicle, the introduction appears to be imminent.
