Switzerland joined the Schengen Area on December 12, 2008, allowing easy travel for tourists, visitors, and business travelers within member states.
The Schengen Association Agreement sets a rule of a maximum 90-day stay within any 180-day period for short visits. This agreement establishes a common visa policy for these stays across all Schengen countries.
For Pakistani nationals, a Type C visa, commonly known as a Schengen visa, is needed for stays up to 90 days. The visa covers the entire Schengen area.
When applying for the visa, a non-refundable fee of Rs27,000 is required. Even if the application is withdrawn or rejected, the fee won’t be reimbursed.
Applicants must show proof of sufficient funds for their stay, with a minimum required amount for each day. This includes providing bank and credit statements for the last 6 months, as well as the previous year.
In summary, the Schengen visa facilitates short-term travel in Switzerland for up to 90 days, with specific requirements such as a visa fee and proof of financial capability.
