Egg prices reach a record peak in Islamabad-Rawalpindi

As poultry prices continue to soar in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi, the repercussions are felt across the entire poultry industry in Pakistan. The current cost of eggs is priced at Rs420 per dozen, putting immense strain on consumers’ wallets.

Former PPA Chairman, Dr. Sajjad Arshad, attributes this surge to the delicate balance between demand and supply.

The nationwide increase in input costs and the overall cost of doing business in the poultry sector have plunged the market into a state of crisis.

Small businesses and poultry farms, especially, have been severely affected, leading to closures and a pervasive economic strain on the poultry business in provinces like Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
