Karachi weather update: Cloudy with possible light rain

The meteorological forecast for Karachi today predicts overall cloudy weather in the city, with the potential for light rain in certain areas. The minimum temperature has dropped to 13.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum is expected to range between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level stands at 90 percent, and Karachi experiences gentle winds, as reported by the weather department.

Currently, Karachi is ranked as the fifth most polluted city globally, with a recorded particulate matter of 212 on the Air Quality Index (AQI). The Meteorological Office had earlier forecasted light rainfall for Monday evening or Tuesday morning.

Due to a westerly system passing through Sindh’s coastal belt, Karachi may witness light to medium-intensity rainfall, according to predictions by the Met Office. Weather experts anticipate scattered showers and light rainfall in specific areas of the city during these days.

Looking ahead, another westerly wave is anticipated to enter Balochistan on February 2, with a new westerly system in February expected to bring rainfall to the central and upper parts of Sindh, as indicated by the weather department.
