The caretaker federal government in Pakistan has approved an additional 25 percent sales tax on locally manufactured and assembled vehicles, potentially leading to increased prices for various cars, including the Toyota Corolla Altis X 1.6 manual.
This decision comes as part of efforts to boost revenue in line with demands from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), amidst ongoing economic challenges faced by the country. The 25 percent sales tax is specifically aimed at locally made cars priced at or above Rs4 million, or those equipped with engines exceeding 1400 cc.
The implementation of this tax is expected to present a challenge for auto manufacturers already grappling with the effects of rupee devaluation.
The latest iteration of the Corolla Altis X boasts a refreshed exterior design, featuring a wider front stance and bold styling aimed at exuding prestige.
Inside, the vehicle offers a luxurious and spacious environment, with soft-touch padding and a 3-dimensional floating interior design contributing to a comfortable driving experience.
Under the hood, the Corolla Altis X is equipped with a state-of-the-art Dual VVT-i engine with Acoustic Control Induction System (ACIS), delivering impressive performance, power, and durability. The engine in the Corolla Altis X Grande variant provides drivers with a thrilling 138 HP and 173 Nm of torque.
Furthermore, the vehicle is equipped with SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) airbags, which deploy in response to severe impacts to protect occupants from potential injury.
