The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) expects Lahore and parts of Punjab to have cold and dry weather from Tuesday night through Thursday. Currently, most of Pakistan is experiencing continental air, and there’s a shallow westerly wave approaching northeastern Balochistan and southern Punjab within the next 24 hours.
In this weather setup, many districts in the province will have mainly cold and dry conditions, with Murree and Galyat expecting freezing temperatures during Tuesday night and the following two days. However, there’s a chance of light rain/drizzle accompanied by wind-thunderstorms in isolated areas like Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Multan, Bahawalpur, Kot Addu, and Khanpur.
Shallow fog may form in isolated spots in Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Jhang, and Bahawalpur during morning and night hours.
Lahore’s minimum temperatures are projected to range from 06-08 degrees Celsius on Wednesday and 05-07 degrees Celsius on Thursday.
Over the past 24 hours, most parts of the province experienced cold and dry weather, with shallow fog in a few plain areas. Murree and Galyat witnessed rain/snowfall, with Murree recording 03 mm of rainfall and 01 inch of snowfall. Murree was the coldest place in the province, with temperatures dropping to 03 degrees Celsius below freezing. In Lahore, the minimum temperature was 06 degrees Celsius, with a morning relative humidity of 86 percent.
