Cement prices drop in Pakistan
The retail price of cement in Pakistan has seen a decline in the past week, as per data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. In the northern regions, the average price per sack was Rs 1239 by the week ending March 16, marking a 0.66% decrease from the previous week’s Rs 1248.
Meanwhile, in the southern regions, the price held steady at Rs 1205.
Specifically, Islamabad saw prices at Rs 1250 per sack, while Bannu recorded Rs 1200. Karachi’s average price was Rs 1172, Hyderabad at Rs 1180, Sukkur at Rs 1300, Larkana at Rs 1173, and Quetta at Rs 1210. Khuzdar’s average price stood at Rs 1200.
This downward trend may have various implications for the construction sector and consumer spending.
Lower cement prices could stimulate construction activity, potentially leading to increased infrastructure development and economic growth.
Additionally, consumers may benefit from reduced costs associated with construction projects, such as housing or renovation.
However, factors such as supply chain disruptions or changes in demand could influence future price movements.
Keeping an eye on these fluctuations can help stakeholders make informed decisions in the construction and related industries.
