Cement Prices Continue to Drop in Pakistan – Check Rates
A recent decline in the retail price of cement has been observed nationwide, marking a notable change in the construction material market.
As per the latest weekly report from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the average retail price per sack of cement stood at Rs 1207 in the week ending May 9. This figure reflects a 1.41% decrease compared to the previous week’s pricing.
Across different regions of the country, varying retail prices have been recorded. In southern areas, the average retail price was slightly lower at Rs 1199 per sack, marking a 0.08% decrease from the previous week. Notable regional prices include Rs 1183 in Islamabad, Rs 1179 in Rawalpindi, and Rs 1250 in Gujranwala.
In Lahore, the average retail price reached Rs 1270 per sack, while other cities like Faisalabad, Multan, and Bahawalpur recorded prices ranging from Rs 1200 to Rs 1230 per sack.
Meanwhile, in Karachi, the average retail price was Rs 1167 per sack, showing variations across different cities nationwide.
These fluctuations in cement prices signify potential impacts on construction projects and overall economic activity, prompting stakeholders to closely monitor market trends.
