Following several reductions in petroleum prices, the federal government has increased petrol and diesel prices by Rs9.99 and Rs6.18 per liter, effective from July 16, 2024.
The Ministry of Finance issued a notification increasing the price of petrol by Rs 9.99 per liter, setting the new price at Rs 275.60 per liter. The price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs 6.18 per liter, with the new price set at Rs 283.63 per liter.
The increase in petrol prices is attributed to recent trends in the international oil market. Additionally, the government plans to impose an additional petroleum levy of Rs 5 in the coming days, further impacting the price hike.
