LAHORE – Maryam Nawaz, the Chief Minister of Punjab, has given more information about the 2024 solar program for people in the province who use up to 500 units of electricity each month.

The chief minister revealed the details while speaking at a ceremony regarding launch of free home delivery service from Model Bazars.

She said the government will give free solar panels to people who use up to 200 units of electricity per month. These people already pay less for electricity, and the solar panels will help them save even more.

Solar System on Installment for 500 units’ Consumers

The chief minister announced that the government will give a full solar system to people who use up to 500 units of electricity each month, and they can pay for it in easy installments.

She said the move would cost the government Rs600-700 billion but it would cut the electricity bills of people by 50%. She said around 500,000 electricity consumers fall in this category.

Solar Scheme 2024 Installment Tenure

She said that people can buy the solar system by paying in installments over five years. Once all the payments are made, they will own the solar setup.

The government has started chalking out the plan in this regard. It is yet to announce the total cost of the solar system for the consumers using up to 500 units and per month installment amount.
