NEPRA raises electricity prices for Karachi
In a bid to provide relief to electricity consumers, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has concluded a hearing on a proposal to reduce the power tariff by 57 paisa per unit for one month.
If approved, the proposed reduction could ease the burden on consumers dealing with high electricity costs. NEPRA will now evaluate the data presented during the hearing before reaching a final decision.
Should the proposal go forward, it could result in more than Rs 7 billion in consumer savings nationwide. Many households and businesses await the outcome as they seek relief from increasing utility expenses.
While this reduction could provide short-term financial relief, the broader issue of high electricity rates remains a major concern for people across Pakistan.
