Bahrain Launches $85 Million Power and Water Stations
Bahrain’s Deputy Prime Minister, Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, officially inaugurated a new $85 million power transmission and water distribution station at the Al Hidd Housing Project.
The 220 kV electricity station, with a capacity of 360 MVA, will serve around 40,000 residents in Hidd and nearby areas, transmitting electricity from the main grid to local substations.
The water distribution station, featuring advanced monitoring and control systems, has a storage capacity of 2.34 million gallons.
The inauguration was attended by key figures, including Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, and Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al Marshad, CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD), which has supported Bahrain’s development under the Gulf Development Programme.
Deputy PM Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA), led by Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, for preparing the infrastructure to meet the growing demand for essential services.
