ISLAMABAD: Pakistan earned $584.566 million from exporting various Information Technology (IT) services to different countries in the first two months of fiscal year 2024-25.

This reflects a 30.231% growth compared to the $448.930 million earned in the same period during fiscal year 2023-24, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

During this period, computer services saw a 35% increase, rising from $361.500 million last year to $488.040 million in July-August 2024.

Within computer services, exports of software consultancy services grew by 31.14%, from $127.329 million to $166.982 million, while hardware consultancy services saw a 33.65% rise, from $0.971 million to $1.297 million.

Exports of repair and maintenance services surged by 195.98%, from $0.180 million to $0.532 million. However, the export and import of computer software services declined by 14.49%, dropping from $106.350 million to $90.941 million.

Additionally, exports of other computer services increased by 80.22%, rising from $126.670 million to $228.285 million.

The export of information services also witnessed a sharp rise of 1052.91%, increasing from $0.490 million to $5.649 million during this period.

Within the information services sector, exports of information-related services rose by 7.96%, from $0.213 million to $0.229 million, while other information services exports saw a massive 1856.42% surge, from $0.277 million to $5.419 million.

Telecommunication services exports also grew by 4.53%, rising from $86.940 million to $90.876 million. Within this sector, call center services exports increased by 25.43%, from $35.977 million to $45.127 million. However, exports of other telecommunication services declined by 10.23%, from $50.963 million to $45.749 million, according to PBS data.
