Textile Exports See 10.44% Increase in First Four Months of FY 2024-25
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s textile exports saw a significant rise of over 17% in September 2024, as reported by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) on Thursday. The data revealed that textile exports increased by 17.6%, reaching $1.605 billion in September 2024, compared to $1.364 billion in the same month last year.
Despite this annual growth, there was a slight decline on a month-on-month basis. Textile exports for September 2024 were down by 2.4% compared to August 2024, which had exports valued at $1.644 billion.
For the first quarter of the fiscal year 2025 (1QFY25), textile exports amounted to $4.520 billion, marking a 9.3% increase from the $4.134 billion reported during the first quarter of fiscal year 2024 (1QFY24).
In September 2024, the largest contributor to textile exports was knitwear, accounting for $448 million, followed by ready-made garments at $338 million, bedwear at $290 million, and cotton cloth at $201 million.
