The sale of cars in the first five months of the ongoing fiscal year 2024-25 has shown a significant growth of 49.66% compared to the same period last year, according to data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).

A total of 38,534 cars were sold between July and November 2024, compared to 25,746 units sold in the corresponding months of 2023.

Brand-wise Performance:

  • Honda Civic and City: Sales rose to 5,434 units, a notable increase from 3,151 units in the same period last year.
  • Toyota Corolla and Yaris: Sales jumped by 79.40%, with 8,477 units sold compared to 4,725 units previously.

  • Suzuki Swift: The model’s sales increased by 57.45%, rising from 1,852 units to 2,916 units this year.

Declines Observed in Certain Models:

  • Suzuki Cultus: Sales dropped to 808 units from 1,611 units last year.
  • Suzuki WagonR: Sales fell to 939 units, compared to 1,420 units during the same months of 2023.

Popular Models Gaining Traction:

  • Suzuki Alto: Sales increased by 36.90%, climbing from 11,306 units to 15,479 units this year.
  • Suzuki Bolan: A sharp surge was observed, with sales reaching 2,896 units compared to just 853 units sold in the same period last year.

This growth in car sales highlights a resurgence in the automobile sector, reflecting both consumer demand and market dynamics.
