KARACHI: Sindh Information and Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon has unveiled the provincial government’s ambitious plan to launch a bullet train service connecting Karachi to Sukkur. The announcement, made during a press conference in Karachi, aims to enhance travel convenience and improve transportation infrastructure across the province.

Highlighting Pakistan’s extensive investment potential, Memon noted that various government departments are actively engaging with foreign investors to attract capital.

Emphasizing the importance of Karachi’s transportation network, Memon described the Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) as a top priority for the provincial government. “The Sindh government is planning to run a bullet train from Karachi to Sukkur,” he stated, adding that the project will be rolled out in two phases.

The minister also disclosed plans to set up a manufacturing plant in Karachi to produce affordable buses for citizens, a move expected to create job opportunities and provide economical transportation options for the public.

Sindh has reportedly secured the highest foreign investment in Pakistan, Memon noted, referencing a recent meeting between foreign investors and Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. He also stressed the importance of generating employment opportunities, estimating nearly 50,000 jobs in the medical sector through an expected $1 billion investment.
