
Pakistani rupee drops 06 paisa against US dollar
The Pakistani rupee depreciated slightly by 0.09 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading on Thursday, closing at Rs278.64 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs278.55.
According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market were recorded at Rs278.20 and Rs279.70, respectively.
The Euro experienced a decline of Rs1.2, closing at Rs288.88 compared to its previous rate of Rs290.08, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
Meanwhile, the Japanese yen fell by 0.01 paisa, ending at Rs1.77. A significant drop of 82 paisa was observed in the British Pound, which traded at Rs348.88 against the prior day’s closing rate of Rs349.70.
In contrast, slight gains were recorded in the exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal, which increased by 0.03 paisa and 0.06 paisa to close at Rs75.86 and Rs74.20, respectively.
