
Punjab Set to Introduce 28 Electric Buses in Another City
Gujrat Assistant Commissioner Bilal Zubair visited different sites to review the proposed routes and bus stop locations for the upcoming electric bus service in the district.
He was joined by Regional Transport Authority Secretary Saddam Hussain, Municipal Committee Jalalpur Jattan Chief Officer Musharraf Baig, and other officials.
The project, which is scheduled to start in December 2025, is being launched under the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. During the visit, the team examined the areas chosen for building the infrastructure needed to run the new bus service.
A total of 28 electric buses are planned to be introduced. The assistant commissioner instructed the concerned departments to speed up the construction of bus stops and make sure all necessary facilities for passengers are completed on time.
Bilal Zubair said the new service will give people access to modern, clean, and eco-friendly transportation, and confirmed that preparations are moving ahead as planned to start operations before the end of the year.
