KARACHI: The gold prices recorded a sharp increase across Pakistan on Monday, rising by Rs2,600 per tola, according to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Association.
Following the increase, the price of gold reached Rs454,862 per tola, while the rate of 10 grams of gold rose by Rs2,229 to Rs389,970.
Meanwhile, in the international market, gold prices climbed by $26 to $4,325 per ounce, contributing to the upward trend in local rates.
Earlier, the gold prices in Pakistan surged to a historic peak as the rate of one tola gold rose by Rs10, 700, reaching Rs454, 262.
All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 10 grams of gold increased by Rs9, 174, hitting Rs389,456.
In the international market, gold jumped $107, pushing the global price to $4,319 per ounce.
Silver also witnessed a rise, with 10 grams becoming costlier by Rs199, now priced at Rs6,684.
