LAHORE – The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has raised vehicle transfer fees by 10 percent, effective July 2025, according to local media reports.
The department has increased the transfer fee by up to Rs1,100 for vehicles with engine capacities between 650cc and 1800cc.
The Punjab Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department oversees vehicle ownership transfers in the province, ensuring proper documentation of legal ownership when someone buys or sells a vehicle.
To transfer ownership, the buyer and seller must submit the required documents, including the original registration book, CNIC copies, sale deed, and transfer application. The department now offers online services through the e-Pay and MTMIS systems, enabling users to track and manage transfers more efficiently.
Revised Transfer Fees for 650cc–1000cc Cars:
According to reports, the department has increased the transfer fee for cars with engine capacities up to 1000cc by Rs 275, setting the new fee at Rs 3,025. Vehicles like the Suzuki Alto, Cultus, and Toyota Vitz fall into this category.
Transfer Fees for up to 1800cc Vehicles:
The department has raised the transfer fee by Rs500 for vehicles with engine capacities between 1000cc and 1800cc, setting the new fee at Rs6,050. For vehicles above 1800cc, it the fee has increased by Rs1,100, bringing the new rate to Rs12,100.
Transfer Fees for Heavy Transport Vehicles:
The department has increased the transfer fee for Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) by Rs550, setting the new rate at Rs6,050.
Motorcycles Transfer Fee:
The Excise Department has increased the motorcycle transfer fee by Rs 55, raising it to Rs 605.
