ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani rupee weakened by 04 paise against the US dollar in interbank trading on Wednesday, closing at Rs278.85, down from Rs278.81 the previous day.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the dollar’s buying and selling rates in the open market were recorded at Rs279.80 and Rs281.30, respectively.

The Euro saw a significant rise, appreciating by Rs1.29 to close at Rs290.29, up from its prior closing of Rs289.00, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Meanwhile, the Japanese yen remained steady at Rs1.78. The British Pound experienced a notable increase of Rs1.94, trading at Rs343.47 compared to the last session’s closing at Rs341.53.

The exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham stayed unchanged at Rs75.91, while the Saudi Riyal edged up by 02 paise, closing at Rs74.32.
