ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad on Thursday extended the remand of PTI Senator Azam Swati for another 14 days.
A case was heard in the court regarding the controversial tweet by Azam Swati. Judge Mohammad Shabbir led the hearing.
The court issued notice to the investigation officer (IO) in the case for not presenting a challan.
“The challan should be presented in any case before the next hearing,” the judge remarked.
The court also said that if the IO failed to present the challan then he will not be paid his salary.
The court also extended the remand of Azam Swati for another 14 days.
On the other hand, SHC today sought a final report on the disposal of cases against Swati.
A hearing was held in the SHC today on the petition submitted by Usman Swati – son of Azam Swati – to end the cases on the PTI Senator.
The court inquired about the cases on Azam Swati to which the prosecutor general said that cases against him have been registered in different districts of the province.
“Cases against Swati have been classified as ‘C’ class,” he informed the court.
The court instructed to submit a final report on the disposal of cases on Azam Swati within three days.
