Friends reunion
The reunion of popular comedy sitcom Friends has been delayed due to ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Boss Marta Kauffman has shared her opinion regarding the delay.
The writer-producer, who co-created friends with her longtime friend David Crane, gave an interview to Entertainment Tonight. She revealed that the cast and crew are determined to shoot the special without having to implement strict safety measures.
“We all want it to happen. We just have to wait until it is safe,” she told the publication. “This is a show that is not scripted, but this is the way the show works – we are going to need a live audience.
“Even if we socially distance that live audience, it really is a huge part of what Friendsis… We cannot do it without them. Everyone is all in and we are just waiting for that time when it feels connected to bring in a live audience.”
Earlier last month, David Schwimmer, who played to the role of Ross Geller on the show, told local news that he is “most looking forward to is just being in the room with those other five actors.
“It’s five, right? That was a joke,” he laughed. “Being on the actual sound stage on the actual set for the first time in 10 years, the set that we shot on for 10 years, that to me is going to be a really meaningful experience.”
